זה הטקסט שליווה את The Ninth Wave – צד ב’ של האלבום The Hounds of Love של קייט בוש. עשרות פעמים האזנתי לו (או בטח מאות פעמים, יותר הגיוני), והשירים שם לקחו אותי למסע, כמו ספר אהוב שצוללים אליו שוב ושוב, ובכל פעם מגלים עוד רובד, עוד קול, עוד רמז, עוד צליל. בסיבוב ההופעות המצופה של בוש, שהתחיל השבוע, היא שרה את כל הגל התשיעי במלואו. החלטה נועזת מאד ומרגשת מאד. מעניין מה יהיה בהופעה שאני אהיה בה, בראש השנה.

שינוי מהותי כלכך במוזיקה שאני מאזינה לה בקיץ הזה, של המלחמה, של השנאה, של האימה. שינוי גדול בתוכנית.
הטמפו ירד, התרחקתי מהמוזיקה השמחה והקצבית יותר, מהביטים והפ’אנק, ויחד איתם ננטשו רוב כלי הנשיפה (שחוזרים לאט, בעיקר בג’אז, שמרגיע אותי בימים אלה). בימים הכי קשים שלי חזרתי לבסיס – גיטרות ושירה. הכל פשוט יותר, כמו לחם – פשוט ומנחם. ובתוכנית השמעתי יותר מוזיקה שהשמעתי בעבר – למרות שאני מנסה לחדש בתוכנית כמה שיותר – הייתי צריכה את החזרה למקומות המוכרים, האהובים, המוגנים והמגנים, חזרה לבית.
כשהכל סביבי הסתחרר, המוזיקה שימשה לי עוגן. כשהכל סביבי יציב, אני יכולה לעוף עם המוזיקה לעולמות רחוקים.
מבינה דרך המוזיקה שלי איפה אני, איך אני מרגישה, המוזיקה כמצפן האישי שלי.
