שבוע שעבר היה פה חמסין אמיתי שנמשך מספר ימים, אבל מיד אחריו הגיעה סופה, ומזג האויר התקרר והתגשם, והקיץ כאילו נשכח. אבל לא באמת, כי אנחנו יודעים שהוא עדיין פה, משתעשע בגופנו וברגשותינו, ​מתחבא לנו מעבר לפינה ומפתיע כל יום מחדש.

כן, גם בברלין יש חמסין. ההבדל הוא, שיש המון עצים ופארקים להתחבא בהם מהחום (זוכרת שבארץ תמיד השתגעתי מהקיצוץ האינסופי של הצמחיים, גיזום כל שיח כאילו היה במסדר צבאי, חיתוך אכזרי של עצים, והשחתה אינסופית של מעט הירוק שיש…), ויש אגמים שאפשר לברוח אליהם, ובעיקר – מזג האויר משתנה כל הזמן, וזה אדיר. חמסין של יום יומיים, ואז יומיים קרירים יחסית, ואולי אפילו מעונן וגשום קצת, ואז שוב חם. כל הזמן שינוי, אין את תחושת המחנק הזו שליוותה אותי תמיד, של חום אינסופי שצפוי לחודשים הקרובים – לעיתים יותר, לעיתים פחות, אבל כל הזמן חם חם חם. בקיצור – יחי שינויי מזג האויר, ויחי החמסין הברלינאי, שעוד רגע יהפוך לגשם וקור.

אביב וקיץ בברלין זה משהו מיוחד במינו. מרגישים מכל עבר את הטבע המתפרץ עם בוא האביב, שלוחות הצמחים שנשלחות מגששות השמיימה, אל עבר משהו להאחז בו ולצמוח עליו, את הציפורים, הדבורים, היבחושים. הכל שופע חיים וחיות. והכל משתנה כל הזמן. רצף של ימים חמים, שלושים מעלות ורוח שמזכירה לי את סיני, ואז יומיים קרירים, אפורים וגשומים. אין סטטיות, אין סטגנציה, כל יום צפוי משהו אחר, ובתוך זה אין לי מקום לשגרה ששוחקת ומעייפת, אין מקום לכהות חושים, אלא ציפייה, התרגשות ולעיתים אכזבה, אבל דינמיות ושינוי כל הזמן. וזה נפלא.
