לאחרונה אני מבינה יותר ויותר את גודל השינוי שעברתי בחיים האלה. את הסבלנות שיש לי, שפעם לא היתה כלל, את הקבלה ואת הרוגע – אם קר או אם חם, אם חשוך או מואר, מזג האויר לא מנענע את מצב הרוח שלי, וגם לא בני אדם – כבר לא נרעדת מכל מצב רוח או פרצוף זועף, ובטח ובטח לא לוקחת אותם באופן אישי. הצרות שיש לי מתגמדות כולן כשאני מסתכלת על מה שקורה בעולם, ואני מוצאת את עצמי מודה באופן יום יומי ממש על כל מה שיש לי בחיים האלה. ולא, זה לא קטע רוחני או ניו אייג’י. אני חושבת שאני פשוט מרוצה, שטוב לי באופן בסיסי, כך שיש לי את השקט הנפשי ואת היכולת לקבל את כל מה שסוער או בוער. לפני אי אלו שנים, כשחייתי במדינה אחרת, בה מדברים בשפה הזו שאני כותבת, הבסיס שלי היה רעוע כל כך, שכל שינוי, כל הפרעה, הרעידו אותי ואת קיומי באופן עמוק ביותר.

אז תודה על כל מה שיש לי. אני באמת אישה ברת מזל עד מאד בחיים האלה.
